The Truth

You guys remember how Sif's old flame looked, you remember that red eye in the white flame. When he was thirteen his father (Zalgo) came to help him awaken his powers, but something went wrong, Sif was left vulnerable enough where someone got in and tried to take control, that someone was mr. Iffy. A master of illusions. He wanted to posses Sif, so in his open state of his first transformation.

He was invaded parts of his powers suppressed. In his out of control state which his father, mother and sister tried to force Iffy out, Iffy controlling one of Sif's new tails impaling his mother as he was forced out but not without leaving his mark on Sif's right eye and thus his influence. But also witnessing his mother's fatal attack done inadvertently by his body. Zalgo in order to keep Sif from going totally insane after a year long feral like state, placed blocks on his sons mind.

Making him believe it was his father that caused his uncontrolled state, until he could find a way to remove Iffy's mark.

Sif only recently coming to the knowledge of the true cause of his mother's death, after the long adjusting his body had been going through and meeting his inner demon.

He realized it was his own hand that removed the mark when he voluntarily ripped out his eye (which had the mark on it) in order to save Mary. Despite at the time Iffy's influence trying all it could to resist it's vacancy disguising itself as a voice in his head as he began attempting to rip out the eye.
